CENTENARY CAMPAIGN

2019 sees the Centenary of the formation/founding of the Old Northamptonians Association, a club set up by Northampton Town and Country Grammar School Headmaster, Mr Reynolds, on July 12th 1919. The First World War had just ended and the school had lost 94 members of staff and sixth form "who gave their lives so others could live".

The spirit of comradeship inspired by the war and the flush of enthusiasm that greeted the peace brought the Old Northamptonians Association into being. Mr Reynolds wanted to form a club to commemorate the part played by Old Northamptonians in the war and to set up an opportunity for former pupils and their friends to meet up, play sport and continue friendships.

Since that day the Club has flourished, providing years of quality sport and great memories and there is much more to come. The Club now has thriving sporting sections in cricket, rugby and football offering sport to all ages from 6 - 60 (some of the 60 years olds should really think about packing up now though!)

in 2005, thanks to the enourmouse generosity of the Sir Humphrey Cripps and the Cripps Foundation, a brand new Clubhouse was build and thousands of users benefit from that now every week.

FUNDRAISING

In 2018 we go from strength to strength, the mini and junior sections across all 3 sports are vibrant and there has been a dramatic uptake in girls rugby, fielding 4 teams from under 13s to seniors.

We are delighted with this growth coupled with the fact that we are offering opportunities for so many to be physically active and we intend to make several developments to the Clubhouse to help us cater for the vast increase in numbers.

2019, the centenary of the founding of the Club, is a defining moment and a perfect time to celebrate 100 years of existence with sustainable Clubhouse improvements.

Our aim is to build two changing rooms with first aid and en suite showering/toilet facilities with an extended balcony to the left of the building for additional seating and viewing. We have set up a fundraising campaign that has had an excellent initial response and we are confident that with further help we can achieve our target.

We are offering a variety of sponsorship options at both individual and local business level alongside several grant applications.

Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

THIS REALLY IS A NOW SITUATION

The more people that help the faster we can achieve this and this will
add to the enjoyment of everyone associated with the Club from 6 - 90

Donations through personal and business options:

MILLENNIUM DONATION £1000

REYNOLDS BOARD DONATION £2500

We are determined to celebrate our centenary year with the Club in fine fettle. To that end we are also planning to replace the heating provision in the Clubhouse with a climate control system. Our target is to have raised enough money to begin the programme of works at the back end of 2018. Please consider helping us so that we can continue to offer wonderful sporting and social opportunities for generations to come.

There are over 2000 regular users of the Old Northamptonians and we want to give them a club to be proud of.

In making these much needed improvements we can provide excellent facilities for the entire community to enjoy and benefit from - you can help us make the difference. We have a driven commitment to see this through and would be extremely grateful for any support you would feel comfortable in offering.

Thank you again.

Here’s to the next 100 years. And thank you for any sponsorship you are willing to make.

With a little help from a lot of people
we can achieve so much
