Funding a club such as ONs is an on-going task, and the day-to-day running costs can see other areas of the club being neglected. The Old Northamptonians Association uses the revenue it generates to look after the grounds and Clubhouse utilities for all our members’ which leaves little left over for improvements and repairs.

In 2012, we launched our “Show Your Hand Appeal”, which combined two fundraising projects to help generate funds for the club. With the first part of the appeal now completed, with the addition of our new appeal wall display featuring members’ handprints, we still hope to encourage more people to become patrons of the Association to help continue with our fundraising efforts. Our goal is to have 100 patrons by our Centenary year in 2019, when we will celebrate 100 years of The Old Northamptonians Association.

So far the appeal has raised over £20,000 which has been used to fund an extensive refurbishment of the clubhouse and Bat and Ball Bar, both of which have now been re-decorated and had new blinds fitted thanks to this funding. New speakers and an improved audio visual system have been installed in the clubhouse, and we have refurbished the tables, re- upholstered the chairs and cleaned and repaired the carpet, all of which are now 10 years old. The fund has also enabled us to fit 30 picture frames in the clubhouse in which to display club pictures from all three sections.

The foyer floor has been re-laid, and outside the front railings have been re-painted. We have also moved the tunnel door downstairs to allow easier access between changing rooms and toilets in the tunnel.

The money we have raised has also allowed us to update the office hardware and the Wi-Fi network in the whole club has been re-wired. Investment still needs to be made in the grounds however, and maintenance equipment needs to be replaced. We hope to look at reducing our utility bills by installing energy efficient lighting in the clubhouse.

As well as physical improvements, we want to be able to continue to develop our ever-growing youth sport within our three sports sections.
These ambitious plans require substantial funding and we would not have been able to do the work that has been completed so far without the help of our patrons.

We are inviting members to become an ONs patron, in order to continue the development of our club.

For a minimum donation of £500, you will become a lifelong patron member of the club and receive the following benefits:

• Various invitations to functions and dinners.
• Have your name engraved on a special honours board inside the clubhouse.
• One free hire of our party area for an evening function.
• Life social membership to the club.

* Patron Membership from only £10 a month- We know £500 is a lot of money to find at once, so we also offer a monthly payment option, which is available from as little as £10 a month, payable over 5 years (Total cost payable £600). Please contact us if you would like a standing order form for this.
